Jeff Levinger's  Help System Samples

ORACLE POWER OBJECTS (PROJECT X, Pre-production)

                          ( 1.6MB, 1995)            Jeff's design, & Jeff's Oracle BASIC Help presentation.
(Most of the non-BASIC content is not Jeff's.

The beauty of this design is its ease of access: clear
organization plus multiple paths of entry and reference
using lists and popups consistently placed and presented.

Many such popups show examples or list definitions.                                                          Others show topics related to the current screen or to
                                                         similar categories or operations.

Having so many links (and an extensive glossary) helps
users answer most questions when they arise, rather than                                                          carrying the burdens of  uncertainty or future followup
                                                         (or
forgetfulness).

CONTROL Help: Website Content Management (Pre-production content, & file="whatsit")

( 2MB, 1997)             This design has features similar to Oracle Power Objects:
multiple paths of entry; many lists of tasks, roles, &                                                         operations; and extensive use of popups for definitions
                                                        and brief explanations.

It, too, has a full glossary -- plus a
"Where Am I?" secondary window showing where the                                                         reader is, in the Help topic hierarchy, and what topics are                                                         related to the current topic being displayed.
